Since 1976.
Our story begins in 1970 when Harry Melotte started working at Packerland Packing, quickly rising from a line worker to master butcher. In 1976, he took a leap of faith and bought a failing butcher shop, founding what would become Melotte Distributing, and building a legacy that continues on over 50 years later.
For those 50 years, we have supplied restaurants, chefs, businesses, and many of the most recognizable dining destinations in Wisconsin with high-quality, consistent meats tailored to their needs.
The business has changed over the years, but our roots haven't. We're still proud to call Green Bay home and stand on our foundation of prioritizing quality and providing unwavering customer service.
Melotte Meats.
After more than 50 years of supplying some of the best chefs and restaurants in Wisconsin, we wanted to bring that same quality directly to your kitchen.
In April 2025, Melotte Meats launched as our direct-to-consumer marketplace, giving families across the country access to the same quality and consistency we've built our reputation on.
It's headed by the third generation of our family business, and began a new chapter for Melotte, but the philosophy hasn't changed — quality first, fair prices, and meat we're proud to put on our own tables.

Between our aging program and strictly sourcing our beef from just two locations in the Great Plains region, we're able to consistently provide high-quality meats with zero fluctuation in flavor or tenderness 365 days a year.
